The Counsellor to Governor Nasir el-Rufai on Information, Mr. Saidu Adamu on Thursday said the current administration has embark on life changing projects across the 23 local government areas of the State.
Adamu, a former member of the Kaduna State House of Assembly and commissioner of information, said Governor el-Rufai in his quest of making Kaduna great again has embarked on several projects aim at improving the wellbeing of the citizens.
He stated this during an interactive session with members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kaduna Council at its state secretariat.
“We prioritize projects. There is no local government area where we didn’t do anything. We cannot do everything for everyone all the time,” he said.
He explained that in view of that, the government needs the media in projecting it’s activities to the masses.
“We need you as journalists more than you need us,” he said.
He appealed to the journalists in the state to forgive them of mistakes which they may have made in the past and work with them.
“Mistakes are part and parcel of us, I want us to forget the mistakes and move forward.
“We should forget the past and be focused on how do we move forward. We are human beings we make mistakes,” he said.
Responding to a question on the spread of projects being executed, he explained that cash flow was hindering more projects.
On insinuations that Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir el-Rufai has failed to fulfill promises made, he disagreed.
“Promises are not failed, they are ongoing. Promises are made based on anticipation. Don’t say Governor el-Rufai made promises and failed. Promises are made as guides and when the funds are available, they are executed,” he said.
He cautioned the journalists against filing news without balancing, stressing that such attitude makes them unprofessional.
