President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Professor Dantani Wushishi from Niger State as the new Registrar and Chief Executive Officer of the National Examinations Council NECO.
The President’s appointment was contained in a letter signed by Minister of Education Adamu Adamu in Abuja, on Monday.
The appointment of the University Don followed the death of the immediate past Registrar, Professor Godswill Obioma who died some months ago
While congratulating the new Registrar Adamu Adamu charged the new Council Boss to prove his worth by elevating the examinations body to compete among its pairs globally
It said the appointment of the new Registrar takes effect from the 12th of July, 2021
Professor Dantani Wushishi is a Professor of Science Education with specialization in the area of Chemistry Education
Before his appointment, Professor Dantani Wushishi works with the Federal University of Technology Minna
He is expected to serve as the new Registrar for a tenure of five years.
The new registrar is a native of Wushishi, headquarters of Wushishi Local Government Area of Niger State.
President Buhari is been accused of appointing northerners into key positions without recourse to federal character as provided by the law.
