In celebration of what could be described as ‘major victory’ and a heavily contested election between the the candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Dr. Dauda Lawal and the incumbent Governor of Zamfara State, Governor Mohammed Bello Matawale, have thrown the entire state into jubilation as young and old jumped into the streets to celebrate Dauda’s victory.
KAKAAKI REPORTERS observed that Gusau, the Zamfara State capital streets, shops, business premises totally shut down as owners thrown themselves into jubilation.
You would recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Lawal the governor-elect with a total of 377,726 votes, after he defeated Matawalle of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who polled 311,976.
Speaking with Mallam Bello Ibrahim Namani, who said Governor Matawale have failed in providing social amenities such as roads, electricity, portable water, in tackling insecurity, none payment of WAEC and NECO for secondary students over 3years, none payment of salaries among others.
He also explained that Dr. Dauda Lawal, provided Hospitals, Schools, offering scholarship for students to study abroad.
“Matawale have failed us we the people of Zamfara State. He has failed in providing social amenities, like schools, hospitals, portable water supply, in tackling insecurity, none payment of WAEC and NECO, salaries among others.
“Dauda have done a lot in terms of providing Hospitals, Schools, offering scholarship for students to study abroad”, he said.
Meanwhile, there has been serious rainfall immediately INEC declared Dauda as winner.
