The outgoing Deputy speaker, Plateau state House of Assembly, Mr. Saleh Yipmong and member representing Dengi constituency has blamed the non performances of his colleagues on recession.
Mr. Yiomong said himself and his colleagues could not perform due to recession that engulfed the entire country, and affected economy of the state badly.
The outgoing deputy Speaker, disclosed this to Journalists in Jos, at his office On Thursday shortly after a valedictory session to mark end the 8th assembly.
He revealed that the 8th Assembly in Plateau state have been unfortunate due to lack of adequate funds, the cash due the them were not remitted to the legislative by the executive.
He however said, his tenure as the member representing Dengi state constituency was fruitful.
According to him, most of the Bills he sponsored at the legislature were passed and implemented.
He revealed that he installed 3 transformers to boost electricity supply in his constituency, build modern market stores and rehabilitate some rural roads.
He told newsmen that he facilitated infrastructural development and other basic social amenities, though it was not his responsibility as a legislator.
The lawmaker who is a returnee into the Plateau state house of assembly said the opportunity given him to run for a second term shall witness more development.
Our Corresppndent gathered that a new set of legislators, the 9th assembly shall be resuming Monday.
A large number of the Plateau state lawmakers including the Speaker, Mr. Joshau Madaki from Jos East constituency will not be returning to the House.
