The Chairman, House of Representatives committee on Interior, Mr. Jagaba Adams Jagaba has disclosed why he left his ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to rejoin the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Jagaba who contested and won his third term seat under the APC in 2015, told Journalists his decision to leave was inform by the fact that his fundamental human rights was infringe by the party leadership in Kaduna State.

He narrated that the APC had accused him of anti-party activities and which a committee was setup to investigate the matter and he was not found wanting but they still went ahead to suspend him.

“The ward Exco sad with me and could not found me guilty of the accusations. But the state chapter of the party, took the Exco to Kaduna to sign that I’ve been suspended from the party indefinitely. Now, in a year of election, you suspend an active politician like me indefinitely? To me, I saw it as an infringement to my fundamental human right. And I decided to just let go. I left them for good,” Jagaba said.

He said: “Today, I have finally decided to rejoin the PDP were I come from. When they say I was suspended indefinitely, I said so be it because this is a party that have no respect for even people that voted them in. This is a party that don’t even care about the people I am representing. They don’t care about the wellbeing of my people in terms of security, welfare and appointments. All my people were left out in everything that is good. No one from Southern Kaduna got serious appointment at the federal level. At the state level, as far as I am concerned, non. So, this are the issues on ground. I cannot keep on representing my people and pretend as if I don’t know what they are passing through,” the lawmaker said.

He said the APC led government only brought hardship and insecurity to the common man adding that APC led government denied the entire people of Southern Kaduna appointments and treated with contempt.

Jagaba who assured the PDP that he will join hands with well meaning Nigerians to take over power from the APC both at the State and at the federal level, said the present government have failed the people especially the Southern Kaduna people.

Jagaba who said it was time for him to leave the APC, added that he rejoined the PDP because that was what his people wanted.

“That is the party my people wanted. Politics is local and the local opinion said it is PDP. So, if my head must be above water, I must be where they said I should be.

“We are here today to join hands with well meaning Nigerians to kick this people that are celebrating hunger, poverty, insecurity out of power. It’s time for every well meaning Nigerian either home and abroad to rise us and ensure that we return Nigeria back to the right tract,” Jagaba added.

Reacting to comments made by el-Rufai who commended the members of the House of Representatives for consenting to his loan request and rain curses on the Senators, Jagaba said he did not buy the idea that the world bank should give Kaduna such a loan that will multiple the dept profile of Kaduna State.

“As far as I am concerned, I don’t want to join issues with the governor of Kaduna state. Is not every member from Kaduna State in the green chamber that supported that issue of the loan request. I kicked against it and we released a statement that we don’t have a hand in it,” Jagaba said.
