Authorities of the
University of Jos, on Monday inducted 955 teachers in the teaching profession, including four visually impaired graduands.
Admonishing the graduands shortly before the oath taking ceremony, Vice Chancellor of the University Prof Tanko Ishaya charged the inductees to be of good conduct, impact knowledge acquired in accordance with 21 century, Vice Chancellor University of Jos, Professor Tanko Ishaya urged the inductees to be guided and abide by the rules and regulations of their profession.
The Vice Chancellor, was represented at the induction by the Director Center for entrepreneurship Prof Emmanuel Oki,
appreciated the Registrar, Teachers registration council for ensuring that the oath taking was a success.
One of the visually impaired persons Tswalev Dennis, in an interview with Journalists said his deformity couldn’t hinder him from achieving set goals of teaching.
“My deformity dose not mean I’m less human, we began 100 to 400 level studies with other students who have eyes and can see; and by the grace of God we are graduating together.”
Mr. Tswalev stressed that ‘though due to our deformity, we might require teaching aids such as electronic recorders and talking computers to enable us impact knowledge to others, but that is not withstanding, we can teach just as our fellow colleagues without any impairment.”

The 11th faculty of education induction and oath taking of teachers was held in the presence of the registrar/chief executive Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) Prof Josiah Ajiboye.
The TRCN registrar also instructed the newly inducted teachers to uphold the tenant of the profession as trained during studies.
On his part, Dean faculty of education university of Jos, prof Joseph Maina Musa, who spoke through the deputy Dean Dr Grace Chollom, equally admonished the graduands on the need to practice according the ethics.
The Dean assured that the inductees had undergone all that it is required of a professional teacher on the modern days.
The Dean congratulated the graduands for enduring the rigorous training format.
