Except for last minute change in plans, news going round suggest that President Muhammadu Buhari has abandoned Kaduna state Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai for Senator Shehu Sani as Governorship candidate of the ruling All Progressive Congress, APC come 2019.
Senator Sani had paid a Sallah homage visit to President Buhari in Daura, the home town of the President on Thursday based on “special invitation” by the President.
Our Correspondent gathered, the president and Senator Sani boarded presidential plane to Abuja from Katsina state where Sani was allegedly hinted about the president’s plan to make him Governor of Kaduna State come 2019 under the ruling party.
It would be recalled that president Buhari recently raised-up the hand of Senator Shehu Sani publicly which confirmed the presidency’s long time plans in favour of the APC Senator for Kaduna Guber 2019.
President Buhari has raised-up the hand of el-Rufai in 2014 in the build up to the APC’s governorship primaries which cheered him to victory.
Our correspondent reported that uneasy Calm pervaded Kaduna immediately the news rented air that Buhari has finally dumped El-Rufai and endorsed Senator Shehu Sani for the number one job of Kaduna State.
Sani, and el-Rufai have been arch-enemies beginning from the early stage of the APC administration in Kaduna State on issues many ascribed “anti people policies.”
