The Executive Secretary, Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), Professor Suleiman Bogoro, has said his office will recover all funds earmarked for projects across higher institutions in Nigeria that were not executed.
It was gathered that a large sum of money was earmarked for construction of facilities at the department of Agriculture and the faculty of medicine in the university of Jos, but could not be released for the execution of the said projects.
Prof Bogoro made the pledge Thursday, at the University of Jos, during an unscheduled inspection of some on going TETFund initiated projects at the university of Jos.
Prof Bogoro said TETFund shall complete all ongoing projects at every institutions in Nigeria.
The Executive Secretary revealed that TETFund do not abandoned projects initiated by it organization (TETFund)
Giving an impression on the projects inspected during interview with Journalists, TETFunds executive secretary commended the job executed by the contractors, he said the job is of standard.
Projects inspected by the TETFund Executive Secretary include, ongoing fresh construction of a three store building at the faculty of Engineering, partmanent site, which is at about 90 percent completion, the ongoing renovation work at the brunt ICT infrastructure and data center, also a three store building initiated in 2016 is at 80 percent completion.
At the management sciences construction project, which the contractor assured the executive sectary that project will be ready for commissioning by this year September.
It was learnt by the director physical facilities that the said management sciences project is about 50 percent completion.
On his part, Vice chancellor of the University of Jos, Prof Sebastian Maimako, thank TETFund for the intervention on infrastructural deficits of the University of Jos.
Prof Maimako, tasked the contractors to maintain standard, and executive the jobs within specification and time frame agree upon.
The vice chancellor who was appreciative of the projects been executed, however solicited for more projects from TETFund to be sited at the university of Jos.
Speaking separately with Journalists, director physical facilities; university of Jos, Architect Halima Auta, commanded speedy job been executed by the contractors.
According to Architect Auta, the job been executed by the contractors through TETFund are of modern and high internationally accepted standard.
TETFund have in recent times executed projects at various tertiary institutions in Nigeria, particularly among Nigeria state governments owned and federal universities.
Most top management of the university accompanied the Executive secretary and Vice chancellor on the tour of the facilities, which it was gathered is phrase one of TETFund projects ongoing at the university.
