The Katsina state Governor, Alhaji Aminu Bello Masari says the importance of imparting entrepreneurial ability could not be overemphasized.
Alhaji Aminu Masari who was speaking during the women entrepreneurship Trade Fair organized by Katsina Inner Wheel Development Initiative -KWIDI at Muhammad Dikko stadium, Katsina.
The Governor noted that the gathering could serve as a train the trainers in skills acquisition on trades and commerce.
Even if it is one person that would be taught skills, he assured that he would be there, adding that the trade fair would benefit several women because skills training is the answer to unemployment.
The Governor harped on the role being played by women in moulding the character of the young ones as spelt out in Islam.
Alhaji Aminu Masari said the population of women made it imperative for government to take care of them.
He reminded Muslim women of the role played by sayyida Khadijah, the first wife of prophet Muhammad, in the conduct of trade and commerce.
He therefore emphasized the need for women to engage in enterprises for the development of the state economy.
The Governor asked women to engage in meaningful dialogue with husbands to allow them to per take in trades, commerce and even venture into politics. He assured of continuous government support to the initiative.
Earlier, the President and founder of the initiative, Hajiya Amina Zayyana informed the gathering that the trade fair was organized for women to showcase products from their enterprises.
Hajiya Amina Zayyana listed the products to include tye and dye, beads, cake, shoe, and soap making.
Others she said include poultry farming, interior decoration and entrepreneurship management training.
One of the beneficiaries of the initiative programme,Hajiya Zainab kofar Bai spoke at length on the trainings received.
She expressed appreciation to governor Masari for the support to the initiative, which led to the success programme.
The president of KIWDI, Hajiya Amina Zayyana later presented an award to Governor Masari for the support to the initiative.
Both artists from Kannywood and state cultural troupe entertain the gathering at the flag off of the trade fair.
The Governor also took time to inspect pavilions of women entrepreneurs at the occasion.
