A total of one hundred and fifty laptop computers, modems, flash drives and other basic accessories was distributed to people of Chikun/Kajuru federal constituency of Kaduna State by the House of representatives minority Whip, Mr. Yakubu Umar Barde.

The beneficiaries were drawn from all political parties, tribes and religion of the constituency.
Mr. Barde, the said the gesture was to put people of the area in tune with the global trend of ICT.

“I’ve taken this as a responsibility by making sure youth in my constituency does not only know how to read and write but also should have a formal knowledge of computer application,” he said.
The five days capacity building in ICT according to Hon. Barde was designed with breakfast, lunch and transport money as palliative to stimulate participants attendance as well as cushion the economic hardship.
Barde who acknowledged the backwardness of his constituency in terms of ICT says training people in the art of computer applications become imperative in view of its importance in human endeavor globally.
He charged beneficiaries to put into use the training they’ve acquired and advance with time and also resist the temptation of trading the laptops for cash.
In a related development, Hon. Yakubu Barde also used the forum to announce free medical surgery for one hundred and twenty people in his constituency suffering from cataract, appendicitis, and other ailments which will be carried out in Sabon Tasha, Chikun local government Area commencing Friday 15 March 2018.
