Muhammad Sani a dreaded bandit notoriously known Zakwi, a son of the late bandits commander, Buharin Daji on Thursday surrendered over 10 sophisticated weapons which includes Rocket launcher, MAP machine, AK47 riffles and 1041 live ammunitions to the Zamfara state government.
Speaking while taking oath not to engage in crimes again, the young repentant bandit, Muhammad Sani said he and others decided to embrace the dialogue initiative of the Zamfara state government to give peace a chance in the state.
He said he want to continue his education both Islamic and western so as for him to become a good citizen of the country.
“I am stopping the nefarious activities because I realize that there is no gain in violence and in killing or stealing.
“I am tired of this bad activities, I want to join in bringing back security and sustainable peace in Zamfara state.
“I will continue to talk and preach to others who are yet to renounce banditry to abandon the bad crimes in order for the development of the state,” he assured.
Zamfara state governor, Dr Bello Mohammed Matawalle said the doors of the state government is still open to receive repentant bandits.
“Those who refuse to repent will be deal with by the security agencies to make sure Zamfara become one of the most safest states in the country,” he said.
Earlier, the state commissioner of Police, Abutu Yaro called on other bandits who are yet to renounce banditry to queue into the peace initiative as security agencies in the state are battle ready to flush out all forms of crimes in the state.
It will be recalled that before the killing of the bandits commander Muhammad Tsoho notoriously known as Buharin Daji, he was the most dreaded bandits in the entire north west region.
