The Deputy Inspector General of Police, Mr Abdulmaji Ali has said that the Nigerian Police would soon matched to the Forested areas of Sokoto, Zamfara and Kebbi States to chased out Bandits and criminal Gangs.
The DIG made the remarks in Sokoto during a meeting with police hierarchy in the state.
The DIG who was on a tour of the state further said the police had commenced receiving the supply of operational equipment from the federal Government.
He said in the next three months the Nigerian police would be Eveready to counter all act of banditry and kidnapping ravaging the northwest part of the country.
According to him what the Nigerian police needs from the public is prayer for them to succeed in the task ahead.
The recently launched Operation Puff adder has recorded an appreciable result with the arrest of higher profile criminals and Kidnapping syndicate along Kaduna- Abuja road.
He pointed that, the issue of security is a collective responsibility which needs the support and cooperation of the entire populace.
In his remarks the state commissioner of police CP Ibrahim Ka’oje disclosed that the state had recorded low rate of criminal activities in the state courtesy of the recently launched operation Puff adder.
He said most the notorious criminals terrorising the state have either been arrested or fled the state totally.
Ka’oje emphasized that sokoto would not and would never be a safe heaving criminals and their sponsors.
He warned general public against harbouring criminals as well as taking laws in to their hands , saying that all cases should be reported to the police and their sister agencies.
In a vote of thanks , the AIG zone 10 Mr Muhammad Alhaji Mystapha commended the DIG for his visit to the state despite his tight schedules.
He said police in the zone would continue to give in their best in the fight against bandits and kidnappers.
The AIG however assured the visiting DIG that the police in the zone would leave no stone unturned in their effort to maintain peace .
He commended the state Governors in the zone for their logistical support to the police despite their meager resources.
