The police command in Plateau state said it has recused a 56 year old woman and a 6 year old pupil, Aliyu Aminu from the hands of kidnappers in Jos Plateau state.
Plateau state commissioner of police Austin Agbonlahor stated this Monday, at the command headquarters in Jos, while parading 12 suspects before news men in Jos.
According to the police, kidnappers of the 6 year old child Abba Sa’eed, Kabiru Sabitu and Abdullahi Kabiru confessed to the crime during interrogation by the police.
Mr. Agbornlahor told news men that the said kidnappers had demanded a ransom of 12 million Naira from the father of the child, and warned him not to involve the police.
The police commissioner also noted that the three man gang kidnappers threatened killing the child should the father involve the police in the matter.
Though the child was rescued unhurt, and no ransom was paid, the police said; the child and his father were at the police headquarters, but could not grant interview to Journalists base on professional advise.
The police chief while briefing news men on the rescue of the 56 year old woman and a 16 year old daughter, said the incident occurred near Kampani Zurak, part of Wase local government area of southern Plateau state.
Mr. Agbornlahor said the victims were rescued from a forest in Wase by the police following a tip off.
Two suspected kidnappers Mohammed Sanni Umar and Ibrahim Ahaji Ardo, have been arrested in connection to the incident, they were also paraded at the police headquarters in Jos.
Also paraded were a 6 gang syndicates of suspected cultists, found with weapons, among other item recovered from the cultists include a wallet with personal effects belonging to a Major General in the Nigerian Army, name however withheld.
The address of the commissioner of police stated that the command also recovered 115 cows belonging to one Ibrahim Suleiman, a 33 year old man, allegedly rustled recently.
During the parade of the 12 suspects alleged to have committed various degree of crime, the police said it also recovered a stolen a Toyota model car.
Mr. Agbornlahor appealed to Plateau citizens to work in harmony with the police, to enable police secure Plateau citizens from men of the underworld.
