A new commissioner of police has assume office in Plateau state, he is Austin Abonlahor, he took over the police command on Tuesday from Undie Adie.
Spokesman of the Plateau police command DSP Terna Tyopev, announced the arrival of the new commissioner of police in Jos, through a press release issued to Journalists Tuesday.
Until his deployment to Plateau state as commissioner of police, CP Agbonlahor, was commissioner of police, department of operations, force headquarters Abuja.
According to the statement, the new commissioner of police has traverse the entire Nigeria.
“He had served in different places and in various capacities in the Nigerian police force; he had worked in virtually all the six geopolitical zones of the country.”
The most recent public action the outgoing commissioner of police took on citizens of Plateau state was “stay indoor order” he issued on some insecurity flashpoints communities within the Jos metropolis two weeks ago, threatening shot at sight order, as part of measures in ensuring law and order following outbreak of violence that led to loss of lives.
The statement by the police spokesperson could not name the new place of assignment for the outgoing commissioner of police Undie Adie.
It will be recalled that CP Undie Adie was earlier sometimes this year transfer to the force headquarters Abuja, at the wake of renew violence in June, but the transfer was later reverse within 24 hours, due to public outcry.
