The Nigerian Universities Commission (NUC) has given full accreditations for 17 programmes at the university of Jos, but denied three other courses accreditation, Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry and Botany.
Principal assistant registrar information and publication of the university Abdullahi Abdullahi made the revelation to news men in a press release in Jos, on Monday.
According to Abdullahi, UNC director of accreditation N.B Saliu, communicated the accreditation notice to the vice Chancellor of the university Sebastian Maimako recently.
The Courses accredited as stated by the information officer of the institution include, “English education, French education, History education, Medicine and Surgery, Pharmacy, Computer Science, Microbiology, Zoology, Geography, Mass Communication, Architecture and building, Religious studies and Geology.
While Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry and Botany were denied accreditations, though no reason was given for not accrediting the three courses.
The statement explained further that the process for the full accreditation of the said programmes began mid last year 2017, was completed in December 2017.
