Chairman, Northern Leaders of Assemblies of God Church, Rev. Baba Fada has declared “a no going back” over the decision of the Northern leaders of the church to form Northern General Council of the church in Northern Region
Rev. Fada said going by the disposition of the Rev Chidi Okoroafor led faction of Assemblies of God towards members of the church in the North in recent times, the issue of having one general council for the church nationwide is no more feasible and acceptable to church members in the North.
Rev. Fada who is the superintendent of Assemblies of God in Katsina State, said there is no accountability in the management of the church funds under one central command structure, insisting that a Church that is over 80 years must be accountable to the members.
Fada said the era of using Northern leaders and members of the church by the top leadership of the church under one general council and dump them, has gone and urged Rev Okoroafor faction of the church to accept the change that has come to stay in the church.
According to Fada, there are four general councils of the church in South Africa for the purpose of proper handling of the church affairs throughout the country, adding that the church in South Africa are looking forward to have more than two general councils of the church throughout Nigeria, being the largest black Nation of the world.
Fada called on the members of the church at the grass roots across the states of the North including FCT Abuja to remain calm and committed towards the common goal that the leadership of the General Church Council in the North is pursuing for the betterments of their followership.
He advised Rev Chidi Okoroafor faction of the church to accept the change that has come to stay in the church, saying the permanent thing in life is change and that needed change in the Leadership of Assemblies of God is what led to the formation of Northern General Council of the Assemblies of God.
