As the People Democracy Party (PDP) embarks on the mission of repositioning it’s house in today’s Convention, the Member representing Jema’a/Zango Federation Constituency at the House of Assembly, Hon. Sunday Marshall Katung has said he was optimistic of a positive outcome.
The Legislator who bared his mind in an interview with newsmen said although the PDP has had it’s own share of internal squabbles , indications were evident that the party was now set for a repositioning that would regain the confidence of Nigerians.
“With the caliber of individuals that already have indicated interest in the party’s leadership, one can be rest assured of quality representation,” he said.
Katung noted that the nation’s political scene had in recent time, witnessed lot of confidence especially by the electorate on failure of equity and fairness of the political class, adding, “recent events are an indication that the people have realized their mistakes and are willing to champion a common front.
“It is very obvious that an overwhelming majority of Nigerians are calling for the return of the PDP-led administration which no doubt, shares in the pains of an average Nigerian,” he said.
The Lawmaker said that the forth-coming PDP Congress was a milestone that would position the party on the right pedestal for effective leadership.
“It is my hope that every aspirant would be accorded a level playing ground devoid of any sentiment as we anticipate a hitch-free National Convention,” he said.
