Christians Rural And Urban Development Association Of Nigeria (CRUDAN) North West Zone has trained 25 persons on good governance and social accountability.
The training was conducted in a 3 day at the Catholic Social Centre in Madakiya, Zango Kataf Local Government area of Kadun State.
A consultant and a North-West Zonal Facilitator with (CRUDAN), James Obadiah said, “the organisation intend to conscientize and create and awarenes on social accountability and monitoring of delivery service.
He urged the participants to engage government on it activities towards ensuring sustainable development.
He explained that,” participants must ensure they impact positively on the economic and social lives of the people through practical engagement with the government.
According to him,” the ideals and realities of nigeria are not favorable to the downtrodden adding,the need to trained vibrants Youths and Women on the need to change the system is necessary to have a functonal and workable plan that will have a direct benefit to the people.
He noted that,” Accountability and civic engagement is a major bane in our democracy,”He said.
He disclosed that,” Centralize system of government has a less impact on the common Man stressing, their is need to decentralize power for positive impact.
“Participants are expected to initiates actions to hold publïc officials,politicians, and service providers accountable for their comduct due to their performance.
He further urged participants to be knowledgeable in all areas in order to speak with authority to the seat of powers.
Some of the participants commended the organisation for an expository lectures on different fields that has tp do with governance.
The training which was as a result of the executive director of CRUDAN Mrs Ruth Dul, has the passioned to change the society by training the Youths and Women in different fields.” The North -west Director said.
