NGO Empowers 500 Women With Skills In Kaduna

A Non Government Organization under the auspices of ‘Rigar Yanchi ‘ International Foundation for less privileged has trained 500 less privileged women in various trade and handicrafts that will make them entrepreneur and earn revenue to support their family.

The national Chairman of the Foundation, Comrade Mustapha Haruna Khalifa speaking at the graduation ceremony for the beneficiaries in Kaduna yesterday,expressed gratitude to Alllah for availing the foundation the opportunity to touch the lives of the women ina meaningful manner.

Comrade Khalifa said, the women were trained in different skills like soap and perfumes making, and Food and nutrition preparations , adding that gone are the days that women stay in the house without contributing to the incomes of their families.

Speaking earlier, the Public Relations Officer of the Foundation, Mr Samson Ibrahim said the aim of the organization is to protect human right because human rights are woman rights.He added that the only way to guarantee such right is to empower women in order for them to be independent but submissive to their husbands.

“In the Northern region, study has shown that our women are very industrious but they are not given the opportunity to showcase such talents and that is why we decided to trained them in the various field and we have discovered that quick a lot of them are talented by the way and manner they understood easily.

“We have done our part but we are calling on the government at all level to assist the trainees with financial support to establish themselves” he said.

Kaduna state chairman of the Foundation Engineer Usman Musa also disclosed that arrangements are on to sign agreement with government agency that will buy all the products produced by the trained women. He therefore encouraged the women to start producing their products because there is already a market arrangement for them.

Responding, some of the beneficiaries commended the foundation and prayed Allah to continue to bless them.
