Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau state has charged organizers of the 2018, second edition Jos carnival to implore new innovations into making the event in subsequent years have international out look.
The Governor equally urged participants of the carnival to take advantage of the annual event and showcase their God given talents for business employment opportunities.
The governor stated this at the take off of street parade for the carnival, which began, at the state Secretariat overhead bridge to the Rwang Pam Township stadium, where the road parade climax.
Hundreds of persons, mostly youths trek more than 15 kilometers for the street parade, exhibiting various dance skills.
Different cultural dancers including non Plateau ethnic groups participated in the carnival, showcasing their cultural heritage.
Aged persons, particularly male foke were also seen, actively participating in the dance steps.
The street parade created heavy vehicular traffic along the major D/B Zang/ Joseph Gomwalk road, heart of Jos metropolis, for hours.
Organizers of the carnival are soliciting for a Carnival village to be created by government in Plateau state to enable artists have a place to exhibit their talents.
