The governor of Plateau State, Bar Simon Lalong has issued certificate of ownership to over 200 land owners in the State.
the Governor, by this action has made land acquisition more easier than the previous administration.
The Commissioner of Lands, Survey and Town Planning, Hon Yakubu Dati made the disclosure Thursday, during the presentation of Certificates of
Occupancy (C of O) to the beneficiaries in his office in Jos Plateau state.
Dati, the immediate past Commissioner for information in the state, added
that the Governor is restoring confidence and guaranteeing access to land
titles for the citizens.
He said governor Lalong is ast tracking the Ease-of-doing-business,
following his commitment to provide layouts for Agriculture, Tourism
Mining and industries.
Dati stressed the Ministry of Lands has keyed into the Plateau State
Development plan and had embarked on reorientation and human capital
development which is gradually eradicating past sharp practices,
unnecessary bottlenecks, and effective and efficient land documentation
through the application of technology.
According to Dati, a total of 238 CofOs and 815 RofOs have so far been
processed this year. He further stated that the government has simplified
land documentation technology in the PLAGIS, whereby applicants will their
documentation within 21 days.
The Commissioner urged members of the public and organisations to ensure they’re up to date with their payments as the Ministry will soon embark prosecute defaulters.
Highlight of the occasion was the presentation of land titles to the
beneficiaries.
