Mourns Two Catholic’s Priest , 15 Others
The Catholic Church in Kafanchan Diocese has called for the immediate resignation of President Mohammadu Buhari to safe Nigeria from imminent crises that could snowball into war, if caution is not taken.
The Kafanchan Catholic Diocese who were reacting through its Diocesan Administrator, Very Rev. Fr. Joseph Abba Billiyock in a peaceful demonstration over the continues attacks on Christians Communities and the gruesome killings of two Catholic Priest and 15 others by Fulani herdsmen in St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Ukpor-Mbalom, Gwer Local Government area of Benue State said,’ “this Mbalom massacre is again a catalyst for the nationwide prayer protest call by the bishops to say no to the killings of Nigerians irrespective of ethnic or religious inclinations.”
The thousand of Catholic faithfuls who took to Kafanchan main township road to Jema’a local government Secretariat with placards said, “life is sacred, el-Rufai stop the killings now or resigned now. Our faith our heritage, middle belt has become human abbatoir. We say no to impunity, enough is enough, stop the killings amongst several others.”
“We called for the immediate resettlement of the displaced persons and compensation to the barbaric activity of the herdsmen in Southern Kaduna and all over the country stressing, if the above call is not hearken to President Buhari should resign with immediate effect.
According to them, “It is on record that since the inception of APC administration, led by President Mohammadu Buhari, scores of lives have been lost due to Fulani herdsmen and Boko-Haram activities.”
”We are particularly saddened by the impunity accorded to the killers and seemingly compromise of the security personnel,” the clergy said.
He further noted that, the government of the day has also become the spokesperson of the killer herdsmen which “puts us in doubt if the government has not taken sides in the menace.”
“We call on the government at all levels to rise up to her responsibility of protecting lives and properties as her primary assignment adding, we call for the arrest and prosecution of all the killer herdsmen as well as Boko Haram members with their known sponsors, “they reiterated.
