TEKAN President Rev. Caleb Ahima has call on President Muhammadu Buhari to deport all Fulani immigrants killing Nigerians.
The TEKAN President made the call on Tuesday during a press conference at TEKAN headquarters in Jos, Plateau state, shortly after it executive meeting.
“It is no longer news that most of the herdsmen who are attacking and killing Nigerians are illegal immigrants, we call on the federal government to send them back to wherever they came from.”
He said it is on record that TEKAN headquarters was relocated from Adamawa to Jos, following persistent attacks and killing of it members.
The clergy condemned the abduction of Dapchi school girls, and urged federal government to ensure that the girls are rescued without further delay.
“While we commend government for the steps taken so far in rescuing the Dapchi school girls, we call on the federal government to ensure that the girls are rescued soon. We condemned the abduction, it is barbaric and inhuman.”
The group also call for retrieve of illegal arms in the hands of civilians, particularly among militias, using the arms and killing innocent Nigerians.
“For us to have relative peace, the federal government must ensure that it enforce the ban on carrying and using of fire arms illegally by non security personnel. All illegal arms in the hands of civilans includng herdsman must collected by government immediately.” Rev Ahima stressed.
