The deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Mr. Bala Barnabas Bantex and other top government officials of Southern Kaduna extraction refused to attend the annual national prayer of the region.
The prayer summit, an annual event usually organized by the conference of southern Kaduna Pastors, was held at Kafanchan new township Stadium.
According to the organisers of the prayer summit, the prayers summit is a yearly ritual that aims at seeking spiritual blessings from God, also to seek spiritual protection and the prosperity of “our land”. Adding that, the summit is like a gateway to a new year, placing God above human and believing that with God all things are possible.
Our correspondent observed that, there was no delegation or any APC stalwart present at the prayer summit that lasted for about three hours.
It is an annual event where sons and daughters of the region come together to pray for guidance in thanksgiving to their Lord.
Sources said, the deputy governor who is vying for Southern Kaduna senatorial seat, shun the prayer meeting to concentrate on the reelection of Governor Nasir el-Rufai campaigns.
