Officials of the Tudunwada Youth Leadership Forum has debunk insinuations making around that a construction company “Jolex” has abandoned a road contract award to it.
Chairman of the forum Nansak Morris, secretary Emmanuel Alim and patron Zakaria Napyal in a press conference on Sunday in Jos affirmed that the company has might the expectations of the communities where the construction is sited.
“We are here to discredit the press statement presented by the so-called Plateau Progressive Youth for Transparency dated 5th February, 2018.”
It will be recalled that a group had recently petitioned “Jolex Construction Company Limited” for allegedly abandoning a road project awarded it by the Simon Lalong lead administration.
The said road project links two major communities of Tudunwada and Jenta Adamu/Magoro communities within the state capital Jos.
Mr. Morris also said the company has not been fully mobilised to site has it was been speculated, but the company has commenced work.
“We are fully aware that the state government awarded a contract to Jolex construction company Limited ad 20 percent has been given to the company and nt 68 percent as stated by the faceless group.”
He stated the role of the group in ensuring that work was done with standard and specifications.
“The community has been monitoring the activities of the company with sincere interest because it is one of the best thing that has happened in our community since the inception of Democratic rule in Nigeria.”
“We are shock to see the allegations labeled against Jolex construction Company Limited due to the fact that we have been working in collaboration with the Plateau state ministry of Housing ad Urban Development to get facts and figures in regard to the contract that was awarded to Jolex construction Company.”
According to the group, apart from the work been done, communities around the project site have benefited in the menial jobs as offered by the company.
“It is on record that 30 labourers from several communities were the construction work is going on are been engage in daily works, which has minimize redundancy among our youth.”
He said the governor of Plateau state had personally visited the construction site, and was pleased with the execution of the project.
“His Excellency Rt Hon Barr. Simon Bako Lalong with his entourage visited the site of the construction and applauded the the work that has been done so far.
It threaten to unreveal those behind the allegations of the contract abandonment “we will not allow any faceless organization to destabilize the existing dividends we are beginning to enjoy in this dispensation.”
