The paramount ruler of Ibi Local Government Area of Taraba State, Alh. Abubakar Salihu Damboro has said that he and his subjects will continue to support Governor Darius Ishaku’s move to restore peace in the local government and the State at large.
Damboro, who stated this yesterday in Ibi during an interview with Journalists said his quest to support governor Ishaku’s peace move became necessary following recurrence of clashes in communities across the state.
According to him, those who are accusing him of masterminding crisis in Ibi LGA of the state are doing that wrongly.
“The recent violence that engulfed in Ibi during LG elections that led the postponement of the election was not influenced by me, I can’t influence my subjects against each other, as a royal father, I always intervene whenever they are issues” he
said.
He informed that he has at different point called for Peace and Security meeting with all service chief in his palace to ensure that security the remains the upmost priority.
He added that governor Ishaku since assumption of office has done credibly well in sectors of the state economy.
He stressed that as a traditional rulers, he has a major role to play in uniting their people of different ethnic and religious affiliations for peaceful coexistence.
He said he will continue to hold meetings frequently with village heads and other stakeholders to enable them uncover any threat to peace on time and tackle it.
