The Special Taskforce on Jos Crisis “Operation Safe Heaven” have reported the killing of four persons in an early morning Sunday attacks on a community in Mangu local government area of central Plateau state.
Media officer of the security taskforce, Maj Umar Adam made the revelation in a press release he issued in Jos, Sunday evening and obtained by or reporter Monday morning.
The press statement also noted that four of the suspects were arrested, while others escaped, according to Maj Umar, the escaped suspects were badly injured.
The press release by the special taskforce said the incident occurred at about 3:00am, Sunday morning.
However residents at the scene of the incident informed that the attackers had killed 6 persons, and set ablaze a worship centre.
Our source named the affected village as Mararaban Kantoma, a village located along the boundary of Mangu and Barkin Ladi Local Government Areas.
It was learnt that a clergy’s Son was among victims of the Mararaban Kantoma attack that were killed.
“We were still sleeping when the attackers came, they killed 6 people, burnt our church, before the security personnel came, they had left.”
