Kano State governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has succumbed to religious clerics calls in the State to allow for Eid-el-Fitr prayers.
In a meeting the governor held with the religious leaders on Monday, at Government House, Kano.
Governor Ganduje noted that the eid prayer will be hold under strict observance of prevention and safety protocols.
The eid prayer will hold across the 4 emirates in the State, Ganduje said.
He further stated that Friday prayers will be holding under the supervision of Hisbah Board, with adherence to all the rules provided by Presidential Task Force against COVID-19.
According to him all Sallah festivities are cancelled during the Eid-el-Fitr and imams are enjoined to call on their followers to the simple personal hygiene of hand washing, use of face mask and observance of social distancing.
It could be recalled that the PTF on COVID-19 has extended the lockdown to two more weeks in Kano.
