It was another round of celebration in Otukpa, Ogbadibo Local Government of Benue State as the Honourable Member representing Ado/Ogbadibo/Okpokwu Federal Constituency, Dr. Francis Ottah Agbo continued the skill acquisition and empowerment programme for his constituents.
Dr. Ottah Agbo, who is the Chairman, Narcotics Drug Committee of the House of Representatives, had in October, kick- started the programme for his constituents in Igumale, Ado LG, with a promise to reach out to the two other LGs in his constituency subsequently.
A statement by his Senior Legislative Aide, Mr. Andrew Agbese said the 5-day skill acquisition programme started on Wednesday and climaxed on Saturday, 28th December, 2021in Otukpa, the headquarters of Ogbadibo local government.
Speaking while rounding off the programme, the lawmaker fondly called the Moving Train and Ozigizaga of Enone, promised to continue to empower his people and charged the beneficiaries who were selected from all the 13 Council Wards in Ogbadibo, to put the skills they have acquired and the equipments given to them, to good use.
Represented by Engineer Julius Inedu, Hon. Francis Ottah-Agbo, who is the spokesman of the Minority Caucus of the House of Representatives said more empowerment programmes would be rolled out in the days ahead.
The beneficiaries sang and danced, as they went home with starter kits containing Hair Dryers, Generators, Industrial Sewing Machines, plastic Chairs and Seed Money.
They expressed their profound gratitude to Hon. Ottah Agbo for giving them a new lease of life.
Traditional rulers, politicians, trade unions, the clergy and many others came out to witness the closing ceremony where the trainees showcased the skills they have learned.
The Empowerment Train is expected to hit Okpokwu before Christmas.
