A chieftain of the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) and a onetime Kaduna State gubernatorial candidate of the defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), Mr. Mohammed Sani Sha’aban has told Governor Nasir el-Rufai to prepare to hand over to a new governor in 2019.
The former member of the House of Representatives, who decried the leadership style of Governor el-Rufai, charge APC members as well as electorates to get ready to change the government in 2019.
Speaking while receiving a special delegation of APC loyalists at his country home in Zaria, Kaduna State, Sha’aban said the way and manner the governor is running Kaduna State will not be accepted hence the need for change come 2019 “If really we want the state to reclaim its political status”.
He said no one is happy or enjoying what is going on in the state administratively as well as in the political circle of the ruling APC.
According to him, people of Kaduna State deserve all rights to enjoy or be part of decision making on what will be a better future to them.
He cited an example on how workers are treated badly, teachers don’t know their fate, traditional rulers uncertain of their roles and politicians were imprisoned politically.
The APC Chieftain charged them to remain focused and start making consultations and preparation for the trek ahead.
The former lawmaker expressed commitment of salvaging Kaduna State from “unprofessional government.”
According to him, “time has come, enough is enough, as a politician I have given enough time for the present government in Kaduna State but nothing to write home about, I am beginning to make comments, criticisms where necessary for government to adjust its style of leadership.”
