The Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) now has a new President, he is Rev Stephen Baba, the new ECWA President succeeded Rev Dr. Jeremiah Gado, after he served two term as President of the denomination.
ECWA church also elected a new assistant general secretary, Rev Alex Ibi, who replaced Eliazar Baba as the assistant scribe.
The installation of the new executive took place Saturday, in Jos Plateau state, at the ECWA headquarters.
Addressing the gathering in an inaugural speech, the newly installed ECWA President lamented increase in number of widows and orphans due to civil unrest and poverty is alarming.
“The population of persecuted Christians, widows, orphans and vulnerable children and the poor generally in our churches and mission field has reached astronomical level.”
Autobiography of the new ECWA President indicate that he is the most prudent head of audit, since the creation of ECWA as a denomination, he is known to be a church planter, ECWA Wise 2, Abuja.
On his part, the out gone ECWA President in an address said his tenure as President of the church established Churches in other African countries, including Togo, Gambia and Malawi.
Rev Gado informed the congregation that his regime founded the Bingham university of the ECWA, Micro finance bank, and the most recent inauguration of ECWA television.
Meanwhile, the out gone ECWA President Jeremiah the clergy had yesterday (Friday) formally commissioned the television station of the ECWA, located at the ECWA Headquarters in Jos, Plateau State.
Rev Gado said, “Another focus of ECWA TV is to address the daily challenges Christians and humanity face in a dynamic world that presents humanity with more choice of evil than godly standards.
According to the out gone ECWA President programs on the television are designed to promote good governance and fight evil.
Deputy governor of Kaduna state Bala Bantex, representative of governor Simon Lalong, Hon Yakubu Dati, commissioner for information, the immediate past governor of Plateau state Senator Jonah Jang and several traditional rulers from Nasarawa state where the new ECWA President hail, witnessed the installation ceremony.
