Details of the meeting between Kaduna State Governor, Malam Nasir el-Rufai and the Traditional rulers have emerged.
Governor el-Rufai and his Deputy, Dr. Hadiza Balarabe had held a closed doors meeting with members of the Kaduna State Traditional Rulers’ Council as part of the State Government consultations with stakeholders on the conditions for safe re-opening of the state from the COVID-19 pandemic.
A reliable source told Kakaaki Reporters that the Traditional rulers pleaded with the Governor to sustain the lockdown until the spread of the dreaded Coronavirus is completely controlled.
The Royal Fathers, who commended the Governor’s prompt action, said the number of the positive cases will have been more, if not for the proactive steps of Governor el-Rufai.
“The Royal Fathers categorically told the Governor not to lift the lockdown, they told him to sustain the lockdown, they also appeal to the Governor to take further actions that could stop the spreads of the virus across the State, especially among the vulnerable citizens of the State.
“They pledged to support the Governor in combatting the spread of the virus,” said the Source.
Meanwhile, the State government has continued to interfacing with relevant stakeholders on the modalities of easing the lockdown and possible return to business activities.
