A Constitutional and Human Rights lawyer Senior, Dr. Olukayode Ajulo has accused Governor Nasir el-Rufai of breach of court processes in filling his lawsuit against Senator Shehu Sani.
el-Rufai had on Friday file a N2b lawsuit against Senator Sani, who is representing Kaduna Central under the platform of the All Progressive Congress, APC.
The Lawyer said, the governor committed an unethical practice in broadcasting the notice of the N2b defamation suit against the Senator.
A statement dated February 23, 2018, signed by Mrs Damilola Kolade on behalf of Dr. Ajulo and made available to kakaaki.com.ng on Saturday, the lawyer asked Governor el-Rufai to obey and comply with all court judgments, since he has faith in the judiciary.
“Apart from the suit, we however take exception to the patently adopted unethical practice of the Governor’s Attorney General, particularly being a senior member of the bar (Senior Advocate) who should know better the implication of taking recourse to the media to broadcast the notice of a pending suit to our client.
“The procedure adopted by the counsel to say the least is unethical, unprofessional and uncharitable particularly when record has shown that there is no court order for substituted service against Sen. Shehu Sani,” the statement read.
The statement however, commended Governor el-Rufai for keeping faith in the judiciary.
“In the same vein, we equally pray that as a further assurance of His Excellency’s premium on our courts he should immediately obey and or comply with all other judgments and rulings against him,” it added.
