St. Augustine Catholic Church in Tudun Wada, Kaduna was on Friday night set on fire by unknown alleged fundamentalists.
A statement by the Christian Association Of Nigeria, Kaduna State Chapter said the Friday’s incidence is the “Eight times the church is been attacked and some of her properties burnt by people we suspect to be Islamic fundamentalist who do not want to see any church standing in that area.”
Rev. John Joseph Hayab who signed the statement, said Rev. Fr Joshua Yima Achir, the parish priest confirmed the story, and said the church has reported the incidence to Security agencies.
“CAN Kaduna State is sad with this development which is a clear indication that Kaduna is under siege and our Government is not paying serious attention to these evil happenings, but instead busy chassing shadows with a divisive preaching bill,” the Statement read.
