Base on the threading video going viral in the media over alleged assault by Senator Elisha Abbo, who allegedly slapped a nursing mother in a toy shop, former Vice-President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, in his reaction advised the senator to show good example of a leader and surrender self to the police and let the law take it course.
Mr. Atiku who made the advise via his verified twitter handle, said “I have seen the alleged assault video involving Sen. Elisha Abbo. The video is sad, inexcusable. I know the Senator quite well. But the law is clear and leaders must lead by example”, he said.
He however, added that Mr. Abbo should publicly apologized, and voluntarily show himself to the police, and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) should also take necessary disciplinary action.
“I advise him to publicly apologize, voluntarily go to the police and show a good example expected of a young leader. I call on our party, PDP to take necessary disciplinary action and the police to ensure the law takes its full course”.
