A coalition of of Plateau patrriots has warned that they will no longer accept further shed of blood in the state, through civil unrest.
“We have spilled enough blood ad shall not accept any further loss of lives and property. We should remain our brothers keeper at all times.”
Leader of the group chief Silvanus Lot, a former secretary to the Plateau state government, and one time Plateau state chairman of the People’s Democratic Party PDP, who read the text of the press conference made the position of the coalition known Tuesday, during a press conference held in Jos, Plateau state.
The group however debunked insinuations making around that the recent killing was targeted at a particular ethnic group in the state.
Chief Silvanus Lot charged those using the sorry state of Internally Displaced Persons, (IDP’s) trying to scaore cheap political goals, to desist henceforth.
“Politicing IDP’s and using them to achieve political objectives is evil and must be condemned in strong terms. IDP’s are victims of our violence and polticing the welfare is double victimization and may force a change in IDP administration to the detriment of the IDP’s.” Is said
It is sad to report that two persons were yesterday (Monday) night shot dead by suspected cattle rustlers, at Beck, a village in Foron District of Barkinladi local government, northern Plateau state.
The text of the press conference also frowned at barricades of roads by citizens, in protest of the killings, according to them it had caused more deaths.
“We are worried by reactions and actions of some rampaging youth.”
The Coalition of of Plateau patrriots totally condemned the attack on the convoy of governor Simon Lalong of Plateau state during his visit to an IDP camp last Saturday, the coalition said the act was a direct aggression on the entire citizens.
Similarly, the President Berom Youth Moulders Association Choji Dalyop Chuwang had in a press release on Monday condemned the attacks on the convoy of the governor, during his visit to an IDP camp attributing it to the handiwork of miscreants.
“This act is extremely evil, thus must be unequivocally condemned by well meaning Citizens devoid of ethnic and political party affiliation and inclination. While we totally condemn this reprehensible act.”
BYM President debunks claims making around that his kinsmen (the Berom) speaking people are ambushing road users at Anguludi, the major highway in Jos, south and killing innocent passer by.
“We wish to use this medium to refute unfounded claims in some quotas that comuters of vehicles with certain Plateau identities are been assaulted at Anguldi, this claim is baseless.”
The press conference by Coalition of Plateau patriots was attended by more than a thousand people, representing citizens from the 17 local government areas of Plateau State.
