2Billion Defamation Suit: I Am Not Intimidated – Shehu Sani

Sequel to the suit filled against the Senator representing Kaduna Central, Comrade Shehu Sani by the Kaduna State Governor Mallam Nasir el-Rufai on the 23rd February, 2018 in the Kaduna High Court demanding the sum of 2 billion for defamation.

 

In a swift reaction, the Senator who stated this in a press statement signed and issued to Journalists in Kaduna through his Special Adviser on Political matters and ideologies Comrade Suleiman Ahmed  said,” the Senator position in expressing his opinion on either Kaduna or national issues cannot be intimidated.

 

The statement explained that,” Distinguished Senator Shehu Sani is a dogged fighter who has been through many courts and even prisons in his life of struggle and can never be stopped or intimidated to silenced by any means.

 

“Those who are allergic to heat should not be in the Kitchen. The distinguished Senator will never falter or waiver in speaking truth to power whether at local or national level.

 

He added that,” the senator will continue to beam his light in the dark and grey areas of our democracy. Those who are irritated by the truth simply need to get a cotton bud,” He maintained.

 

According to him,” Those who voluntarily offer themselves for public service have also chosen to offer themselves for public scrutiny.

 

“The distinguished Senator has in the last 2 years endured and overcame sponsored violence and Campaign of calumny by the aides of the state  Governor and will overcome this.

 

He further reiterated that, Our politics is driven by our loyalty to our principles, our faith, our conviction and our conscience and not subservient to any tin god or Demi god.

 

“We don’t worship broom,we don’t bow down to broom.” The Statement conclude.
