The Vice Chancellor of the university of Jos, Prof. Sebastian Maimako, has said the University will soon equipped it printing press with modern machines in order to meet up with modern printing standard.
Prof. Maimako made the pledged Thursday in Jos, when he visited the office of the press Manager, Sebastian Abel Sanke, located at the old campus.
The Vice Chancellor commended efforts by management of the University’s printing press for upgrading its offices, adding that the current managers of the unit have transformed the unit from what it was.
Reacting to the development in an interview with Journalists, in his office shortly after the visit of the Vice Chancellor, Press Manager of the University’s Printing Press, Mr. Sanke, informed newsmen that a loan of N250m has been approved by the university governorning council to enable the university printing press acquire modern equipments to boost it job.
The Press Manager of the university’s Printing Press said annual income of the Printing Press have inproved tremendously from 2017 to 2019, from N44m to the sum of N93m.
Mr Sebastian Abel Sanke, recalled the the university of Jos Printing Press was established in 1983.
He lamented that most of their machines are already absolute; hence the need for modern equipments to be purchased.
The University of Jos Press Manager revealed further that his office is working toward collaborating with National Examination Council (NECO) for printing of their examine sheets soonest.
According to him, the university of Jos printing press is currently printing some journals for Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund).
