By Salihi Abubakar:

Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State has directed security agencies not to allow criminals and merchants of “religious extremism from Kaduna State into his State.

Ganduje specifically ordered, “Security agencies should be extra vigilant to make sure that kidnappers, bandits, armed robbers, cattle rustlers, vanguards of religious extremism and other criminal elements do not cross border from Kaduna to Kano.”

This is just as Kano Mobile Court working with the law enforcement agents arrested 45 vehicles that disregarded the lockdown order and ban on inter-states movement at Kwanar Dangora, Kano-Kaduna boundary, Thursday.

Under the Chairmanship of Salisu Idris Sallama, the Court fines all the law breakers accordingly.

A Statement from Governor Ganduje’s Spokesperson, Abba Anwar said, from over 45 vehicles that sneaked and arrested, while trying to force themselves to Kano, over 30 of them were from Kaduna state, 10 from Jigawa and others from other places.

He added that the vehicles were arrested because they bypassed the ban on inter-state movement order and decided to sneak to Kano ahead of Sallah festive period.

While commending the security agencies for the good work, governor Ganduje called on the security agencies to keep vigil and make sure that, “Our boundaries with other states are closely monitored and controlled.”

Governor Ganduje further explained, “People should understand that, when state puts ban on inter-states movement, it is necessary for them to observe that.”
