COVID-19: Dogara Distributes Food Items To Constituents In Bauchi

The immediate past speaker of House of representatives, Yakubu Dogara has distributed food items worth millions of naira to the vulnerable and less privileged perons in Dass, Tafawa Balewa and Bogoro federal constituency of Bauchi state.

The Chairman of the distribution committee, Hon Aminu Tukur during the distribution of the items in bauchi, said that the items were given to ameliorate the hardship been faced by the beneficiaries, most especially at the difficult times occasioned by COVID-19 pandemic.

Tukur who listed the items to include, 3200 bags 10kg rice, 3200 bags 10kg maize flour, 600 cartons of spaghetti and 100 bags, said that the Muslim communities in the constituency will get 60 percent of the commodities while 40 percent is going to the Christian communities.

“The gesture by Honourable Dogara, is to cushion the effects of the Lockdown and remember the Muslims faithfuls during the holy month of Ramadan.The COVID 19 partial Lockdown in the state have affected the socio-economic activities in the state, hence there is the need for palliative measures by philanthropists and good spirited individuals to assist in the little way they can, to alleviate the pligths of the masses” he said

He called on humanitarian organizations and individuals to emulate the gesture of the former speaker and give assistance, especially now that states are recovering from the aftermath of the COVID 19 pandemic.
