Sokoto Records Eight More New Cases Of Covid-19

Despite. Proactive measures put in place to prevent the spread of Covid-19 by the sokoto state Government yet the state is still recording more cases of COVID-19.

The state taskforce chairman on Covid-19 Dr Muhammad Ali Inname  disclosed this while briefing journalists in Sokoto.

He said the Eight new cases were as a result of the first Index which was recorded on the 19th of April 2020.

According to the chairman with the eight new cases in the State, Sokoto state has now 10 Covid-19 confirmed cases.

The Chairman of the committee, who is also   the State commissioner of health Dr Muhammad Ali Inname,  said all those found to have contact with the first and second victim would be tested and screened to ascertain their negativity or otherwise.

He Called on health workers in the state to be  vigilant enough, not  only for Covid-19 but other contagious diseases.

The eight new cases mentioned by the taskforce chairman were spread as a result of their contact With the first case recorded on the 19th of April 2020.

He said all  contacts of the  new cases are Being traced , samples collected and are being processed , adding  that the testing center for Covid-19 in sokoto state has been activated .

 He said the general public needs to strictly abide by the guidelines given by the state ministry of health for self protection and  limiting community spread of the Virus .

Inname  further stated that the state government would continue to monitor the Covid-19 situation closely and give out updates to the public.

 The Covid-19 taskforce chairman however appreciate the support and cooperation of the good people of Sokoto state, the sultanate council and security personnel in the fight against the spread of the dreaded virus while urging them to maintain the tempor.
