Concerned by resumed attacks and general insecurities in Nigeria, a group Known aa South-North Conference Group has called on Presidential Muhammadu Buhari to immediately resign as President for his failure to protect live and property of the citizens.
Founder of the group, Charles Ihemegbulem, in a press release to Journalists in Jos, on Wednesday, lamented that the ongoing administration in Nigeria has failed in it primary responsibility of securing lives and property.
“If Mr. Preesident (Muhamnadu Buhari) will not rise to his primary responsibility of providing adequate security to Nigerians, then let him honourably resign his position as the President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” they said.
The group pledges to take further action, should insecurities persist unabatedly in the country.
“Failure to do the needful or resign will attract an agitation call, enough is enough!,” they added.
The group also demanded immediate removal of security chiefs for failing to secure Nigerian citizens.
They added that the present leaders piloting affairs in various security apparatus have over stayed their welcome.
“What track record and exceptional strategy have this current Service Chiefs demonstrated that have made it extremely difficult for Mr President to relieve them of their duties and bring in others to try? Whatever ingenuity that prompted Mr president to hire them have been long over powered by the terrorists and it is obvious they are completely out of anything new,” they further stated.
The Convener of the group noted with sadness that the present administration have not live to the expectations of Nigerian citizens, security wise.
“Myetti Allah Fulani Association, Fulani Herdsmen militia, Islamic Movement in Nigeria and others who have exhibited every single index of terrorist group and are still treated with kid gloves and respect.”
The South-North Conference Group also alledged that most current security heads have regional, religious and lineage with Present Buhari.
“For whatever reason the President decided to channel the appointment of virtually all the outfits saddle with security of our nation to people who are of his region and largely his religion have proven incomputent.” It noted.
It equally explained that “the current issue on Amotekun reveals that the government is more concerned of a legality that has outlived it’s usefulness at the expense of humanity.”
