Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Lagos State Governor, Bola Tinubu met in Kaduna on Saturday.
Atiku, who was the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) hosted Mr. Tinubu, National leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at his Kaduna residence.
This is the first time the two leaders will be meeting after the 2019 general elections.
The two leaders met behind closed doors after the weeding Fatiha of Atiku’s Son wedding at Sultan Bello Mosque, Kaduna which had current and former governors in attendance.
Details of the meeting of the two leaders was not disclosed to Journalists, sources however told KAKAAKI REPORTERS that the meeting was not unconnected to the 2023 general elections.
“I can confirm to you that Atiku and Tinubu met and had some discussions for a about four hours, I can’t tell you the line of their discussion but it is not far from the 2023 game strategy, there might be alignment and realignment as we go into 2020.
“You Know Former President Olusegun Obasanjo was in Kaduna last week and had a meeting Governor Nasir El-Rufai. It’s a season of strategies,” said our source.
The source, closed to former Vice President Atiku disclosed that “such meetings between the two leaders will continue in the country and abroad.”
While Mr. Tinubu is been rumoured to be nursing a presidential ambition in 2023 under his ruling APC, Mr. Atiku is also alleged to have interest in picking his party’s Presidential ticket in 2023.
