Jema’a local government area of Kaduna State has donated furniture and books to 177 primary schools cut across the local local government.
Mr. Danjuma Peter Averik, Chairman of the local government area while presenting the items on Wednesday at the Council Secretariat in Kafanchan said, “the gesture which was part of the Paris Club Refund Funds for 2018 was to meet the need for quality education especially at the grassroot level.”
Averik said the items included, 3,000 chairs and 60, 000 customized exercise books.
The Chairman who appreciated the State Governor Nasir El-rufai’i for the support demonstrated towards revamping education in the State and urged the Head Teachers including education staff across the local government to make judicious use of the items.
“The exercise books should be distributed equitably so that it would be used for the intended purpose,” he said.
Nathaniel Amos Maude, Education Secretary of the Council who received the items for onward distribution, appreciated the Council Chairman for understanding the need for education in Jema’a local government.
Maude promised that the items would be judiciously used for the desired intention.
According to him, “we are like Oliver Twist, we will not relent in coming back to ask for more, we understand your passion for education , we will give our own support for a better education in our Local government.”
