2019: Plateau PDP Aspirants Besiege Party Secretariat

As the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Plateau state prepares to shut it doors from submission of expression of interest form of aspirations, most PDP aspirants in the state contesting the 2019 eections for various political offices on Wednesday rushed and submitted thier forms at the PDP Secretariat to beat deadline.

As a result, Barr Istifanus Gyang, a serving House of Representatives member, for Barkinladi/Riyom, federal constituency who is contesting the senatorial seat for Plateau northern senatorial district, hoping to replace senator Jonah David Jang, call for support.

The arrival of Barr Istifanus Gyang at the PDP Secretariat created commotion due to a large number of party supporters who accompanied him to the party office to submit his form.

Barr Istifanus Gyang had served Plateau state government as the Permanent Secretary security, during the peak of Jos civil unrest, which has remain unabated.

Addressing party officials, Barr Gyang said if given the opportunity to serve in the senator, he will transform the Plateau northern senatorial district to an envious status to other senatorial zones in the state.

Similarly, a former Controller General of Immigration Service David Parradang, who is vying for the senatorial seat of Plateau central, said he shall operate an open door policy if elected senator.

Parradang who is seeking to replace Senator Joshua Dariye, who is currently serving 14 years jail term at Kuje prisons for misappropriating Plateau state funds while serving as governor of the state, Parradang pledged an all inclusive governance.

The PDP aspirant claimed to have traverse across Nigeria due to his appointment as the Controller General of Immigration Service, therefore desire to use the knowledge through legislation to develop his constituent’s.

On his part, Dr. Simon Mwadkon, who wants to retain his seat at the House of Representative, was also at the PDP Secretariat in Jos Wednesday and submitted his form, preparatory for primary elections.

Dr. Mwadkon, was a lecturer, and had served as a member, House of Representative for Barkinladi/Riyom federal constituency, he is a former local government council chairman of Riyom.

Dr. Mwadkon’s profile presented at the party Secretariat indicate that his administration as House of Representative memer had touched the lives of his constituent’s with humanitarian services, particularly landmark projects.

Addressing the aspirants, separately, Plateau state chairman of the People’s Democratic Party PDP, Hon Damishi Sango, a former Minister of Youth and Sport assured the aspirants of party’s unbiasedness.

In recent times, PDP Secretariat in Jos has became a business avenue for unemployed youth who have been keeping vigil at part office, collecting stipends from aspirants to Mae a living.

A pandemonium almost occurred on Wednesday afternoon, when a Senatorial aspirant spread money at PDP youth supporters at the premises of the PDP Secretariat, a women was almost lynched by abe body youths while struggling to pick some currency.
