Group under the auspices of ‘Concerned Stakeholders,’ Kaduna central on 25th September, 2018 vowed to returned Senator Shehu Sani back to the National Assembly.
According to some of the APC Kaduna Central delegates and stakeholders ,” The choice to return the incumbent senator to represent the district in the National Assembly remained to the best interest of the region.
The stakeholders in a statement made available to newsmen in Kaduna on Tuesday said they were satisfied with the representation of Sani and had put measures in place to ensure his victory at the APC primaries.
The statement signed by the Executive Director, Media, of the group, Josiah Thomas, said “as the primary election to elect who bears the flag of the APC in Kaduna Central draws closer, stakeholders of the party had thrown their weight behind the aspiration of Senator Shehu Sani.”
The stakeholders, who said they were drawn from “the constituting local governments areas of Birnin Gwari, Chikun, Giwa, Igabi, Kaduna North, Kaduna South and Kajuru, met in Kaduna on Friday, 20th September, 2018 and resolved to eschew bitterness, self-aggrandizement, personal and pecuniary interests by supporting Senator Shehu Sani for the 2019 senatorial election.”
The statement said in part; “The group under the chairmanship of Mujaheed Mustapha, including elected party delegates who have decided to shun personal and pecuniary reasons, because the interest of the party and that of the Muhammadu Buhari Presidency were more paramount in their decision.
“The Buhari Presidency needs more ranking lawmakers to galvanise it to greater success between 2019 and 2023, so as to make up for the shortcomings encountered via the political land mines of the opposition inspired in the outgoing 8th National Assembly under the leadership of Senator Bukola Saraki and Rt. Hon. Yakubu Dogara, as Senate President and Speaker House of Representatives respectively.”
The group explained that their endorsement of Senator Shehu Sani was not in conflict with the earlier endorsement of President Muhammadu Buhari and Mallam Nasir Ahmed el-Rufai as presidential candidate and Kaduna gubernatorial candidate respectively by the Kaduna State chapter of the All Progressives Congress.
“Rather, our action is a complimentary one because the entire party leadership and followership of the party in Kaduna State were in unison on the duo because of the exemplary leadership qualities of the leaders.”
