Ahead of the 2019 general elections, the Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on interior, Mr. Jagaba Adams Jagaba has formally declared intention to run for Kaduna South senatorial seat.
Jagaba, the incumbent House of Representatives member from Kachia/Kagarko in Kaduna State, recently dumped the All Progressive Congress (APC) with over 5000 others to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over alleged intimidation and harassment from his former party.
The lawmaker said his declaration to run for the Senate seat came as a result of the people’s clarion call to served them.
Jagaba who also inaugurated his campaign committee members also, donated Cars to his team of co-ordinators across the Eight local government areas to champion his interest.
According to him, “When, at the ounset of the fourth Republic in 1999, the good people of Kachia/Kagarko Federal Constituency elected me into the National Assembly, and again in 2011 and 2015, it was not because I was the best, but because they were convinced I could do better, with every sense of humility, modesty and responsibility, I stand to say I have earned their trust to have been so elected three times.”
“During these years, I have endeavoured to enhance the quality of their lives through; provision of health care centres, sinking boreholes, Youth empowerment through employment. Also facilitated the employment of over 200 Youth cut across the Southern Kaduna Senatorial zone into various MDAs at the federal level amongst several others.
He disclosed that, “one of the recent motions i presented was for the establishment of Federal Medical Centre in Kafanchan, and by the grace of God, it has received Presidential attention, and in no distant time from now, it would be materialize.
He noted that, his ambition to serve the Southern Kaduna is to protect the rights of his people wherever they maybe irrespective of tribal, political or religious inclinations. It is about promoting the dignity of the people and further enhancing the potentials inherent in them.
Alhaji Yaro Makama Rigachikun, who was the guest speaker at the occasion called on the Southern Kaduna people to votes for Adams Jagaba for a sound education, health and successful development in the region.
He reiterated that, “no war, argument or any harassment that will stop PDP from winning the general elections from the Federal level down to Kaduna State.
According to him, “any politician that serve his people well will be voted at ease, those who complaints because they were not voted are politicians that are selfish and greed.”
He further extol Southern Kaduna PDP for being promising people and standing for the party vigorously irrespective of the hardship meted on them under the rulling All Progressives Congress.
Commenting over the crises that rock the PDP, he disclosed that he was part of the conspiracy meeting that conspired to sent a former Governor of Borno to go and destroyed the PDP, after meeting in Lagos, I came back and told Makarfi, General Aliyu Gusau, Doctor Bello Haliru and Aminu Wali and they quickly took a decision that save the party from collapsed.
“Haven’t the stranger went back to Borno and decamped back to APC? Yaro Makama asked.
The campaign Director General of Jagaba, Hon. Edward Parcy Masha appeal for the support of the coordinators to work vigorously for the success of the candidate.
“We will follow house to house to canvass for support. This is the time for us as people of conscience to install leaders that have respect for our region.” He declared.
