The Chancellor of the Gurara Furum, Mr. Vincent Bodam has declosed why he throw his hat to run for Kaura House of Assembly, saying his decision to contest was driven by the need to allow experience drive development in the constituency.
Bodam who spoke recently to our correspondent shortly after the Sokapu’s Public hearing on its reviewed Constitution and Logo at the Bajju town-hall in Zonkwa, Zango Kataf LG area of Kaduna State said,” he was yielding to pressure from his people to run for the State House of Assembly because of the love he has for his people, stressing that his biggest motivation is to ensure delivery of democratic dividends through effective representation.
According to him,” I have sat down and viewed the representation of my people, I am not impress at all. I believed there a lots of things I can do better if I emerged.
” The best place to start bringing positive development to my people is for mnow.o start with House of Assembly which is close to the grass-root,” He said.
He added, “there is proximity between the representative and the people.”
He disclosed that, “I have an agenda for the people of Kaura LG; To represent the people very well, Community involvement where I will always create time to ask questions on what we can do together for speedy development of our constituency. I am not happy seeing the kind of resources we have like Oranges, Mango, Beans which are sold to nearly free prices I will like to see a difference.”
“we’ll bring investors so that our farmers can sell their products to them direct. I will also want to see Companies coming on here using our fruits to create whatever they want to create like juice or whatever product they want to produce.
“Am not happy seeing a lot of Youths malingering about involving themselves in social vices because of lack of job, we can engage them in so many things. We can create sport facilities for them, skills acquisition program, Talent hunt competition so that those with talents in different fields can be discovered,” Bodam explained.
“Youth/Women inclusiveness is a priority to my administration. We have passed the era of sharing Motorcycles, grinding Machine, we’ll engage more on capacity building, even if we ‘re distributing such items we have to teach them first on how to use them not giving them and they will sell it off and go back to zero level.
“We’ll also involve the Youths through education programs by organizing Schools debates which will take off their minds from this social vices.” He added.
“Farming competition will also be organized for our farmers to have sense of belonging. Somebody with the biggest Yam tuber can be rewarded with other things,” he said.
Commenting on the zoning process, Vincent said, “In everything in life there is a turning point. He argued that the zoning has never been in a written agreement in the LG, it has been a silence agreement.”
He disclosed that, The present House of rep member Hon. Gideon Gwani, did a lot better when he was at the State Assembly than now being in the Federal House of Representatives. All the network Roads you saw in Kagoro was build by him when he was at the State member House of Assembly but absolutely nothing was done by him now,” he disclosed.
