Ex-Jonathan’s Aide Faults Buhari’s Comments Over Nigerian Youth Laziness

The former aide to President Goodluck Jonathan on youth matters Jude Imagwe, on Sunday, said President Muhammadu Buhari was wrong to have said youth in Nigeria are lazy and do not want to school.

Mr. Imagwe made his position know in a press statement to Journalists, the former Presidential aide fault President Buhari, said Nigerian youth are hardworking and are not lazy.

“President Muhammadu Buhari before the world, called the future and pride of his country, lazy and uneducated, before other world leaders he called Nigerians generation next lazy and uneducated, before his own children he called the nucleus of project Nigeria lazy and uneducated.”

It will be recalled that President Buhari allegedly stated during a Common Wealth Business forum on April 18, 2018, stated that Nigerian youth are gold diggers.

“Nigerian youths are lazy, uneducated; and don’t like to do any work because they believe their country is an oil-rich  nation, thus always wanting  free oil money ”

The statement by Mr. Imagwe argued that Nigerian youth are not lazy. “I am grateful to God that between 2009 to 2015 I have served at the different level of responsibility from President of NANS, to Deputy Secretary-General West Africa PYU and Senior Special Assistant to the President on Youth & Students matters. In all these period I worked closely with one of the most treasured assets in the world “The Students and Youth” not for one day did I see laziness and lack of education in them.” Mr. Imagwe explained.

He demanded that President Buhari retract the said statement, and apologize to the youth or face the wrath of Nigerian youth, whom according to him are twice the number of the aged persons and children alike.
